About the Book

In the small town of Tameworth, there are some very strange goings on when a sinkhole suddenly makes an entire lake disappear within minutes, taking with it two unsuspecting participants in a game of life and death. The story of the mines that riddle the landscape began 100 years earlier. When the Tin mine was closed, unbeknown to the company that decommissioned the mine the vents were never capped over properly, but also unknowingly, the horror that lay beneath the town of Tameworth was thought to have been sealed over and forgotten forever. When thirty miners died in horrific circumstances, the link between the strange object that was found deep in the mine was to blame, and soon the mine was labelled as cursed. Strange events surround the mine and once it was closed the locals soon wanted to forget the sexual deviancy and horrors it had brought to the town. 50 years on, and the lake that had formed over one of the mines air vents suddenly disappears one night and for those next two weeks the people still alive from the past soon began to wish they had never heard of the mine, but this time, they had been lucky and after two weeks, the lake refilled, and all seemed quiet once more. Again, the story abated into a sordid secret never to be told and as the town grew, the stories soon disappeared of the cursed mine and the abhorrent events it wrought on the town. Josh has lived in Tameworth all his life and after meeting his lifelong friend and now girlfriend, thoughts of their future and marriage flood his young adult mind as he believes he has found his soulmate, but little does Josh realise that what is about to happen is going to change his life forever. His plan for a romantic proposal was simple. A boat trip out onto White Mere lake, and then a romantic meal and then said deed would be done and his future with Lisa would be sealed. Unknowing to Josh and Lisa, it was time for the strange spirit that resides below that had waited its 50 years and it was now time to wreak havoc once more on the town. But this time, it was wanting more than ever before. The malevolent spirit wants only the souls of the chosen few and now has a way out of the mine, and soon it will seek out those souls that it needs to be free. David Bromin, the local fire chief, it soon to realise that a rescue mission he was on, soon turns into one of the strangest mysteries he has ever come across when a geologist named Sarah Lucas convinces him that she needs to go down the Tin mine to find something she suspects is a new phenomenon to science, and like so many before them, they soon discover that this mine is indeed cursed and now the spirit knows they are looking beyond what they need to know. With murders suddenly appearing all over Tameworth, detective Paul Smyth is soon on the scene and colluding with David to try to figure out what is happening, but like so much David is learning, the town of Tameworth is covering up a dirty secret and those involved with stop a nothing to keep Tameworth's seedy past secret, even if it means framing or even killing those who seek out the truth. With the town in jeopardy and the evil spirit slowly gaining strength, time is running out to destroy the entity before it rampages through the town, in this endearing, yet odd tale from a Random Wolley!
