About the Author :
Pasquale Imperatore is currently a Research scientist at National Research Council (CNR), Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA), Naples, Italy. His research interests include microwave remote sensing and electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering, with particular emphasis on theoretical scattering models, waves in random layered media, SAR data modeling, processing and calibration, SAR interferometry, parallel algorithms and high performance computing. He is an IEEE Member, Associate Editor of Frontiers in Imaging, Topical Advisory Panel Member of Geomatics (MDPI), and member of IntechOpen Earth and Planetary Science Scientific Advisory Board. He acts as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Moreover, he has co-edited two books in the field of remote sensing and geospatial technology. Gerardo Di Martino is currently Associate Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Naples Federico II. His main research interests are in the field of remote sensing and electromagnetics: modelling of electromagnetic scattering from natural surfaces and urban areas, simulation and processing of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signals, information extraction from SAR data, and electromagnetic propagation in urban areas. He is the Lead Associate Editor of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Section within IEEE Access, Associate Editor of IEEE Journal of Selected Topics on Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, and Editorial Board Member of Remote Sensing (MDPI) and Electronics (MDPI). He is a Senior Member of IEEE. Alessio Di Simone is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of Naples Federico II. Since 2022, he has been Assistant Professor in Electromagnetic Fields after working at the University as a research Fellow from 2017 to 2021. His main research interests are in the field of microwave remote sensing and applied electromagnetics including: modeling of the electromagnetic scattering from natural surfaces, urban areas, and artificial targets; simulation and processing of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry (GNSS-R) data. Dr. Di Simone received the 2022 Best Young Researcher in Oceanic Engineering award from the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Italy Chapter.
