Teresa E SnortonTeresa E. Snorton is a Bishop in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She currently serves as the Ecumenical Bishop and Program Development Officer. In that role she represents the CME Church at national and worldwide events and is responsible fr grants for special denominational projects. She previously served as Presiding Bishop of CME Districts in East Africa, Alabama, and Florida. Bishop Snorton is also the Chaplain Endorser for the denomination. She is a board-certified chaplain and a certified ACPE Clinical Pastoral Educator. She served more than a decade as the Executive Director of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) prior to her election as Bishop. She has taught pastoral care and CPE in fulltime or adjunct roles at Virginia Commonwealth University, the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Emory University Healthcare, Candler School of Theology, and Payne Theological Seminary. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (BA), Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (MDiv), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (ThM), Virginia Commonwealth University (certificate in Patient Counseling), and United Theological Seminary (DMin).
