Philip G Altbach

Philip G. Altbach is research professor and founding director of the Center for International Higher Education (CIHE) in the Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College in the United States. He was the 2004-206 distinguished scholar leader for the New Century Scholars initiative of the Fulbright programme, and has been a senior associate of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. His most recent book is Global Perspectives on Higher Education. He is a member of the Russian government's '5-100 Excellence Commission' and is on the advisory boards of the National Research University Higher School of Economics in Russia, the Lahore University of Management Science in Pakistan and the Graduate School of Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.
