Mary PorterFrom early childhood, Mary has been absorbed in creating art in different mediums, and writing both poetry and prose.Following a career as a NHS Occupational Therapist, Mary retired in 2004 and left England, to live in Portugal, allowing her more tim to develop artistic projects.As a Sculptor in clay, stone and wood, Mary has exhibited in various galleries and venues in Portugal.Her bas relief sculpture, RESURRECTION, is installed in Nossa Senhora Da Luz Church in the Algarve, a great honour for a non-Portuguese artist.Three years ago, Mary moved to the Andalusia region of Spain, and is working with a new medium, up-cycled fabrics and wool, to make tapestries inspired by the beauty of the local landscape.
