Mark FreitagMark Freitag is currently an Associate Professor at Augusta State University. He has a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Georgia and a M.S. in mathematics from the Memphis State University. He has taught mathematics content course for pre-service elementary and middle grades teachers for over 15 years in a variety of settings from small private colleges to large public universities. Dr. Freitag's scholarly interests include classroom communication issues such as improving students' reading comprehension in mathematics and developing strategies for moving students from learning that is dependent on the instructor to independent learning.
