M.R. AliProfessor M.R. Ali is an Anglo-Iraqi poet with a BSc. degree from the University of Wales and a Ph.D. from London University. His early career began in engineering and teaching before he switched to art. Believing that science and art could work in hrmony, he founded the concept of `Artology’ and then `Deltaism’ as post cubism. He then went further by inventing the `Deltar’, a patented musical instrument derived from mathematics. His love of poetry started in Kerbela, Iraq, his place of birth. At that time he was a keen poetry reader and studied Arabic poetry and literature. In time his interests shifted from engineering and science to poetry and literature. The unique quality of his exploration of poetry is the combination of his scientific knowledge in English and his background in Arabic poetry, which cumulates in descriptive poems of various themes and topics in the English language. His previously published poetry books include Poems for the Cities, and Poems for Art’s Sake. Read More Read Less
