Karl Spracklen
Karl Spracklen is an associate professor of sociology of leisure and culture at Leeds Beckett University and a visiting professor at the University of Huddersfield. He is one of the co-founders of the International Society for Metal Music Studies ISMMS) and the first principal editor of Metal Music Studies. He is interested in identity, social justice, subcultures, resistance and alternativity. He has written eight monographs that have had some greater or lesser impact.
