Joyce TischlerJoyce Tischler is Professor of Practice, Animal Law at the Center for Animal Law Studies (CALS) at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. Prior to joining the faculty in 2019, Professor Tischler taught as an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark aw School; University of California, Davis; John Marshall Law School; and John F. Kennedy Law School, and she has lectured in many parts of the world. In 1979, Professor Tischler co-founded the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF). She served as ALDF’s executive director for 25 years, and as its general counsel until the spring of 2019, working to build ALDF and the animal law movement.
