Jake D. Johnston
Jake D. Johnston is a Ph.D. student at Columbia University's Physiology department. He is working in the de Marco lab at the Simons Electron Microscopy Center where his main interests are involved with method development for high-resolution in-stu cryo-electron tomography. At SEMC, he gained expertise on cryo-ET sample preparation, data collection, and processing. Before pursuing a doctoral degree, he obtained his master’s in biochemistry under Dr. Stephan Sprang at the University of Montana, and in collaboration with Dr. Wah Chiu’s group at Stanford University where his work focused on elucidated the structure of G-protein complexes.
