Gary Chan Gary Chan is Associate Professor of Law at the School of Law, SMU. He served as Associate Dean (Teaching and Curriculum) of the School of Law from 2007 to 2009. Prior to joining academia, Gary Chan served as a corporate lawyer in a Singapore lawfirm, as an in-house legal counsel, and was also appointed a judicial officer of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He obtained his LLB from NUS, LLM from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, MA in Southeast Asian Studies from NUS, and a BA (Philosophy) from the University of London. He is currently an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and an Attorney and Counselor-at-law (New York). Gary Chan has published widely in various books and law journals as well as in the Journal of Business Ethics.
