He served in the Marine Corps from 1965 to 1972, and served as the spokespersonfor the National Cord Blood Registry from 2000 to 2004. He has spoken to more than 3000 service club audiences on state-of-art cancer treatment protocols in 43 states and five different countries, and provided cancer research services to numerous physicians.
