Constantijn Kortmann

Constantijn Kortmann (born 14 March 1944, deceased 24 January 2016) was professor of Constitutional Law and General Theory of State at the Radboud University of Nijmegen, Netherlands (1981-2009). He received his doctorate degree in 1971. He was professor of Dutch and Comparative Constitutional Law at the University of Amsterdam (1976-1981). His publications include a Manual on the Constitutional reforms of 1983 and 1987, and a Treatise on Constitutional Law (2008). He was joint editor of a handbook on the Constitutional Law of the fifteen EU Member States (2004). He was dean of the Faculty of Law of the Radboud University and of the Faculty of Law of the University of Amsterdam. He was doctor honoris causa of the University of Poitiers, France.
