Christophe Sand
Christophe Sand is Head Archaeologist for the New Caledonia Government at the IRD Research Centre in Nouméa, working on Southern Melanesia, Western Polynesia and Western Micronesia. His main fields of interests are the first Austronesian ettlement of the region related to the Lapita complex, the cultural dynamics of the Pacific peoples over the succeeding millennia, and the impact of Western expansion in the Pacific.
