He is an expert in Maximizing Cash Flow using Business Plans, Budgets, and Monitoring, plus Cash Budgeting and Cash Managemnt as his primary tools. Bruce has a growing network of professionals in virtually all business categories, which, when appropriate, he will refer to his clients with specific needs. His strategic relationships include bank and non-bank financing options for startups and ongoing companies. His consulting practice focuses on entrepreneurs, small and early-stage businesses, non-profits and not-for-profits, as well as ongoing businesses facing Cash Flow obstacles or growth issues. This is the foundation for many of his workshops and his first book, "Maximizing Cash Flow - The Path to Prosperity" published in October 2021. Bruce's first client was the Government of Kuwait, which hired him in 1993 to author and present a five-day seminar to the Kuwaiti banking industry to help them recover after the country's liberation from Iraqi occupation. Bruce continues to present seminars and workshops on a variety of business subjects independently, for The Enterprise Center at Salem State University, and he continues to present his custom-designed seminar "How to Start and Grow a Successful Business" and his "Business Skills Workshop" at Keefe at Night, the adult education program in Framingham, Massachusetts. He recently presented his 6-session seminar to business owners at StartUp Rutland, in Rutland, Vermont. Bruce has been a guest speaker to entrepreneurship and finance classes at Babson College, Boston College, Bentley University, Dean College, Northern Essex Community College, and Fisher College, where he also taught International Management. Prior to founding his consulting practice, Bruce spent almost 22 years at Bank of Boston Corporation, where he held a variety of key financial positions, including senior level financial and administrative manager for multibillion-dollar domestic and international strategic business units. During the recession of 1989-1991, he was one of three Strategic Planning Officers who successfully facilitated and produced a new Corporate Strategic Plan for Bank of Boston Corporation, which was approved by the Board of Directors. He created and managed the financial database for 42 strategic business units and over 200 support centers for what was at that time a $65 Billion financial services company.Bruce has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Long Island University, plus an MBA and a Certificate in Advanced Management (with a focus on Entrepreneurship) from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. He has been a Business Plan evaluator in Babson' College's Graduate and Undergraduate Business Plan competitions for over 20 years and was a Coach in Babson's Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program. From 2012-2020, he was on the Board of Directors of a Boston-based condominium community; the last 4 years as the longest-tenured Director. From 2008-2014, he was the Secretary of the Defeat Diabetes Foundation of St. Petersburg, FL, as well as Secretary of its Board and its Finance Committee. In February 2023, Bruce was elected Assistant Treasurer and then in 2024 Treasurer of the Board of Directors of his Florida condominium association, a 731-unit, 75-acre community with a multimillion-dollar annual budget. This position also puts him on the Finance, Reserve, and Insurance committees plus the Investment and the Cash Budgeting and Cash Management subcommittees. He is currently a member of a newly created succession planning committee.
