About the Book

The most important factor in maximizing recurring cash flow is effective decision-making. Every day, you and your team will be making hundreds of decisions covering every aspect of your business, decisions which could make or break your success. In a perfect world, every decision is based on business planning and data analytics, with much less focus on past experiences, common sense, guessing, and certainly not in a panic or crisis event. This is not a perfect world. For this reason, this book is specifically designed to help you make the most effective decisions for your company. Every business is different, every management team and staff have different skills, knowledge, objectives and backgrounds, federal, state, and local laws, taxes, and regulations differ substantially, and competition changes. Only you and your team can make the most effective decisions for your business. My key reason for writing this book is to provide you - the reader- and your team to develop the mindset to understand every need of your company, and make the most effective daily and ongoing decisions, which may impact your own company. How will your management team analyze every possible issue and develop possible solutions? These and other issues are discussed in each chapter in this book. I've also included specific stories of events which illustrate the impact of well-done or poor decision-making. Follow the processes described in this book and you will be positioned to reach your maximum level of success. Always remember that no decision is final - there factors may require you to revise decisions as circumstances dictate.

About the Author :
Bruce Share has been the Managing Director and Cash Flow Solutionist(TM) at Share Business Growth Strategies, LLC. since 1993. He is an expert in Maximizing Cash Flow using Business Plans, Budgets, and Monitoring, plus Cash Budgeting and Cash Management as his primary tools. Bruce has a growing network of professionals in virtually all business categories, which, when appropriate, he will refer to his clients with specific needs. His strategic relationships include bank and non-bank financing options for startups and ongoing companies. His consulting practice focuses on entrepreneurs, small and early-stage businesses, non-profits and not-for-profits, as well as ongoing businesses facing Cash Flow obstacles or growth issues. This is the foundation for many of his workshops and his first book, "Maximizing Cash Flow - The Path to Prosperity" published in October 2021. Bruce's first client was the Government of Kuwait, which hired him in 1993 to author and present a five-day seminar to the Kuwaiti banking industry to help them recover after the country's liberation from Iraqi occupation. Bruce continues to present seminars and workshops on a variety of business subjects independently, for The Enterprise Center at Salem State University, and he continues to present his custom-designed seminar "How to Start and Grow a Successful Business" and his "Business Skills Workshop" at Keefe at Night, the adult education program in Framingham, Massachusetts. He recently presented his 6-session seminar to business owners at StartUp Rutland, in Rutland, Vermont. Bruce has been a guest speaker to entrepreneurship and finance classes at Babson College, Boston College, Bentley University, Dean College, Northern Essex Community College, and Fisher College, where he also taught International Management. Prior to founding his consulting practice, Bruce spent almost 22 years at Bank of Boston Corporation, where he held a variety of key financial positions, including senior level financial and administrative manager for multibillion-dollar domestic and international strategic business units. During the recession of 1989-1991, he was one of three Strategic Planning Officers who successfully facilitated and produced a new Corporate Strategic Plan for Bank of Boston Corporation, which was approved by the Board of Directors. He created and managed the financial database for 42 strategic business units and over 200 support centers for what was at that time a $65 Billion financial services company.Bruce has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Long Island University, plus an MBA and a Certificate in Advanced Management (with a focus on Entrepreneurship) from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. He has been a Business Plan evaluator in Babson' College's Graduate and Undergraduate Business Plan competitions for over 20 years and was a Coach in Babson's Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program. From 2012-2020, he was on the Board of Directors of a Boston-based condominium community; the last 4 years as the longest-tenured Director. From 2008-2014, he was the Secretary of the Defeat Diabetes Foundation of St. Petersburg, FL, as well as Secretary of its Board and its Finance Committee. In February 2023, Bruce was elected Assistant Treasurer and then in 2024 Treasurer of the Board of Directors of his Florida condominium association, a 731-unit, 75-acre community with a multimillion-dollar annual budget. This position also puts him on the Finance, Reserve, and Insurance committees plus the Investment and the Cash Budgeting and Cash Management subcommittees. He is currently a member of a newly created succession planning committee. He played the leading role in the Association's finding a new primary bank, obtaining a Revolving Line of Credit and was a key member of the team that developed and implemented the cash budgeting and cash management processes. In March 2023, he received his Florida Homeowner Association/Condo Board Member Certification.

Review :
Several years ago, Bruce and I "clicked" based on our mutual view that although profit is like food, cash flow is indeed like oxygen...particularly for the new entrepreneur who will quickly determine which of the two is most vital for survival. His latest book continues to carry the "cash flow torch" but he's now broken it down into dynamic planning applications and functional sections. Equally important is his experience, relating the many situations throughout this book into which he's introduced his vital perspectives with tremendous results, both in a banking setting and as a business advisor for firms both established and startup. Alan Adams, Assistant Professor of Finance, Dean College Bruce Share combines his focus on cash flow and business forecasting fundamentals with concrete techniques to marry this daily practice to answering big picture questions. We are living through times which require both: as the outside world is having an outsized effect on our local economies even as more of our neighbors engage in bottom-up approaches to support small business. Take what Bruce tells you to heart: He has the experience and perspective to be considered a sage of our business environment. Scott Graves, Real Estate Developer This book is a must-read for anyone looking to start a business and position their company for long-term success. It's an easy-to-follow, comprehensive guide that not only walks you through the process of launching a business but also provides valuable references, actionable recommendations, and real-life examples drawn from Bruce's shared experiences. Soraya Winters, Program Manager, Continuing Education, Keefe at Night
