An active member of the International Dyslexia Association ad the Learning Disabilities Association of America, he serves as a board member for SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) and the American Occupational Therapy Association. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Washington and the University of Washington School of Medicine, he received his M.A. from the University of Chicago and engaged in postdoctoral studies at the University of California-San Francisco, the National Institutes of Health, and the University of Pennsylvania.
