About the Book

One day, while Eric sat in the shade of an old apple tree, he decided to play a game of tossing an apple up into the tree to see how far it would go. Knowing that when something goes up into the air it will always come back down, Eric became confused when the apple never did return into his hands. Then it became even more mysterious when he heard an unusual sound come from the branches of that apple tree. How could he explain this when he was the only one around?

Now, his brother Josh had an idea that he could play a trick on Eric if he hid in the tree. So, when Erich threw the apple up into the tree, Josh cleverly grabbed it before it could return into Eric's grasp. While looking for that apple, Eric poked Josh with a stick causing him to yell out. When the apple appeared to speak to Eric causing him great confusion, Josh could not control his laughter. Seeing that he was alone, Eric began to think that apples could really talk after all. Come see how Eric discovers whether an apple can really talk as he and his brother, Josh, laughingly make their way home with a sack full of apples.

About the Author :
Pat McLaughlin resides in Massachusetts where she lives with several of her children and grandchildren. Her books, although fictitious, are based on the antics of the children who have graced her life. Knowing that one of life's greatest treasures is the gift of laughter, she has taken the many capers of these children and written stories that enable readers to see the funny side of life. She is the author of several books such as: Two Little Farmers in One Wooden Shoe, Lissi Anne and the Isle of the Gumdrop Trees, Fuzzy Learns a Lesson of Love, The Children of Vaaylor, and JuAnna and the Sad Little Bubble Fairy. She will continue to write more stories in the future as there will always be one more child and one more funny tale to put into print. Karen Gillette currently lives in California with her husband Bill. For as long as she can remember she had a passion for art. This passion took her into college for graphic design, however, her path was redirected not into graphic art but into caring for children for over 30 years. Her love for children merged with her love for art, and she employed both to give children the chance to find that inner love of art that she herself found early on in life. She always knew that one day she would return to that true passion and now she has the chance to demonstrate this love for both children and art with her illustrations in this book. She feels blessed to share these illustrations with those who read the book and hopes that each child will enjoy, not only the story, but also the pages of colorful images that she has placed throughout this book. Karen is also the illustrator of the book, Fuzzy Learns a Lesson of Love.
