His message ignited public outrage, not because it was loud, but because it was true.
On his return to Mauritius, Dave founded the STOP movement - San Tous Ou Pension - with the motto "San Tous Ou Dignite" (Without Your Dignity, You Have Nothing). STOP was not a political party, but a cry for fairness, a citizen's movement rooted in justice and a refusal to let austerity punish the most vulnerable.
When rallies and speeches proved insufficient, Dave made a deeply personal decision: he began a hunger strike - quietly, at home, on the verandah of the very hall where he had once organized party campaigns - to stand for dignity and justice, even if no one else would.
