About the Book

Shield of Sparrows is a slow-burn, high-stakes romantasy perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Rebecca Yarros--where enemies become lovers, monsters stalk a cursed realm, and a forgotten princess finds the strength to tear off her crown and become the warrior she was never meant to be.

The gods sent monsters to the five kingdoms to remind mortals they must kneel.

I've spent my life kneeling--to their will and to my father's. As a princess, my only duty is to wear the crown and obey the king.

I was never meant to rule. Never meant to fight. And I was never supposed to be the daughter who sealed an ancient treaty with her own blood.

But that changed the fateful day I stepped into my father's throne room. The day a legendary monster hunter sailed to our shores. The day a prince ruined my life.

Now I'm crossing treacherous lands beside a warrior who despises me as much as I despise him--bound to a future I didn't choose and a husband I barely know.

Everyone wants me to be something I'm not--a queen, a spy, a sacrifice.

But what if I refused the role chosen for me? What if I made my own rules? What if there's power in being underestimated?

And what if--for the first time--I reached for it?

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

About the Author :
Devney Perry is a #1 New York Times and #1 USA Today bestselling author of more than forty romance novels. After working in the technology industry for a decade, she abandoned conference calls and project schedules to pursue her passion for writing. Elena Anderson is a classically trained actor, audiobook narrator, and voice-over artist who specializes in bringing smart, sensitive women (and their stories) to life. Her earnest and trustworthy voice, international upbringing, facility with languages and dialects, and lifelong study of history give her the experiential and technical skills to tackle a variety of genres, with soft spots for speculative fiction, literary fiction, and historical fiction and nonfiction. Elena is passionate about bringing attention to underrepresented experiences, ideas, or events and is dedicated to lifelong learning as both a woman and an artist. Her undergraduate study of history and anthropology, subsequent acquisition of an MFA in acting, and an enduring extracurricular love of astronomy give her a knack for digesting and communicating dense academic material. Thanks to both parents working in the US Foreign Service, Elena grew up traveling the world, has studied multiple languages (particularly French, Spanish, German, and Italian), and has a strong ear for picking up dialects and accents. When she's not working, she enjoys contra dancing, crocheting, playing piano, and sword fighting with friends! She is a certified Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. She also works as a freelance grant writer, using the power of storytelling to support artists and nonprofit organizations that amplify marginalized voices. Colleen Delany has been a sparkling jewel in the crown of Washington's vastly talented acting community for thirty-seven days now and will confidently challenge to a fierce best out of three in "paper-rock-scissors" anyone wishing to topple her from that lofty perch. Primarily a stage actress, --having played roles at Shakespeare Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, Folger Shakespeare Library, Studio Theatre, Olney Theatre, Woolly Mammoth, Theater J, Washington Stage Guild, Theater of the First Amendment, and Source Theatre, among others--Ms. Delany does a you-name-it of various acting jobs, including audiobook narration. Zoleka Vundla is an audiobook narrator from Johannesburg, South Africa, who currently lives in New York City. She received her BFA in acting from SUNY Purchase College. She has narrated books for ACX and Penguin Random House. Her recent projects include Golden Dreg Army by D. K. Dailey and I am Oprah Winfrey by Brad Meltzer. Stephanie Németh-Parker is a SAG-AFTRA audiobook narrator, voiceover artist, and actress with over thirty years of experience. With a voice that has been described as warm and soothing, her versatility and adeptness with accents has enabled her to work on a multitude of projects. Jon Vertullo is a voice-over and on-camera talent who has been performing on mic, stage, and screen since the age of ten. Jon's voice has been described as "friendly, trustworthy, and engaging, with a sprinkling of nerdy fun!" When he isn't performing, Jon enjoys spending time with his family and finding new and exciting restaurants to try.
