About the Book

Stuart The Bug Eating Man is about a man with an unusual taste for all things creepy and crawly. He likes nothing better than munching on a centipede sandwich or guzzling down a tall frosty glass of liquidized slug. The more wriggly, the more crawly and the more slimy the better. To Stuart a bug is like a fine juicy steak, or the stickiest, tastiest piece of chocolate cake. Unfortunately Stuart's family don't share his taste in snacks. The Tiny Twisted Tales are a collection of short stories and poems from the rather strange mind of Calvin Innes. Each Tiny Twisted Tale is about another weird, scary, wonderfully gruesome character, from people who eat bugs, to tiny toga-wearing goblins. Each book is packed with dozens of Calvin s quirky illustrations. Each tiny twisted tale has a moral of sorts, tightly wrapped in a twisted and creepy (and funny) tale. A short, humorous poem about a man who eats insects. He decides to use his talent to his advantage and becomes a pest control man. Eventually his talent makes him rich and leads on to him being very successful and happy. Shows children to make the most of their talents, whatever they may be. Even though Stuart's talent is a strange one, he uses it to his advantage, works hard and becomes successful. Filled with humorous and disgusting feature illustrations, plus numerous strange and funny bugs scattered throughout the book. From the book: Stuart would eat bugs, with his fork and with his knife. Much to the disgust of Harriet, his wife. He'd munch them, and crunch them, legs and all. While they'd wriggle and squirm and scurry and crawl.

Review :
Julia Eccleshare (Guardian Book Reviews & Love Reading): Even though Stuart's talent is a strange (and gross) one, he uses it to his advantage, works hard and becomes very successful. The book is filled with humorous and disgusting illustrations, lots of strange and funny bugs and has as many laugh out loud moments as it does 'eeew!' moments. It's also a book that shows children that they should make the most of their talents, whatever they may be. Brighton Argus: Fantastic! ITVs Daybreak: Insects, slime, all the fun stuff kid's enjoy! Sounds perfect! Progressive Preschool Magazine: This is a wonderfully disgusting book by UK author and illustrator, Calvin Innes. Junior News & Mail: A funny disgustingly wonderful poem written and illustrated by Calvin Innes, Stuart The Bug Eating Man will have children giggling with glee. Hull Daily Mail: Delightfully disgusting!
