About the Author :
Andrew McCann is the Development Manager of the Fingal Citizens Information Service in North County Dublin. In 2002 Andrew identified and highlighted a gap in people's understanding of their rights and entitlements and the 'Know Your Rights' slot on Newstalk 106 was subsequently launched. The basic premise for this book followed from that original concept, which is trying to ensure that such information is provided in a simple, understandable and user-friendly format.

Review :
'Andrew McCann's seminal work Know Your Rights will perform a vital role in the ongoing development of consumer power in Ireland...This is a breakthrough book, not only of enormous assistance to consumers generally and especially when things go wrong, but also hugely informative for the media, politicians and consumer advocates in general. Andrew McCann is to be applauded for the work he has done and, not least of all for dedicating the royalties from Know Your Rights to the Irish Heart Foundation.' - From the foreword by Eddie Hobbs. 'This timely and accessible guide to public and private services is commendable.' - Emily O'Reilly, Ombudsman / Information Commissioner. 'Free of jargon, this book will serve as a handy reference guide...get informed!' - Orla Barry, presenter of the Orla Barry Show on Newstalk 106.
