About the Book

Temples have been constructed by sages, kings and people to serve as a channel where one can experience the divinity that has been consecrated. When our phone batteries lose charge they go out-this requires us to charge them by connecting them to a source of power. They are then back in action. Our lives in today's world and our karma makes us also lose our aim, mood or in other words our "battery" goes out. Temples and mantras then serve as the sources of power-in this case what we call as Shakti that can be seen as Ganesha or Shiva or Devi or Vishnu or Hanuman. Such temples also are centers of art, culture and economic growth sustaining the material and spiritual life of people. This book would be a compilation of sacred geometries and temple centers-a brief snapshot of the architecture, history and science of the spots. The temples will be given as per the directions: north, south, east and west with the temples grouped under each direction. The aim is to enable any seeker/traveler to gain access to select well-known and relatively lesser-known temples in India along with valid pointers. This will be the first such book presenting this data in this format.

About the Author :
ShivSanjeevi Sripathi completed his Master's in Biotechnology from Mumbai University in 2008. He was awarded for academic excellence in both his Bachelors degree and Masters of Science for securing the second rank at the university level and first rank in his college. This was followed by a short foray into research on a stem cell project and later patent writing and immunoassays. This was followed by his entry into the teaching field where he taught biology and chemistry to 11th and 12th-grade students along with English grammar and communication skills to people of all age groups. He is an author/co-author of books on biotechnology/life sciences (more than 50 published books), which are in several international libraries. These books cover several topics like "depression: insights", "quantum biology", "viral epidemics of the 21st century", "yoga: research insights", "remote sensing in biology", "bionics", artificial intelligence in biology", molecular wires", "mitochondria", "stem cells", "nanotechnology", "camouflage" and "gene editing", to name a few. In his free time, he researches and gives talks on ancient Indian practices, temples and systems. This research compiles the science of traditional practices and how to interpret them in today's context. He has taught and interpreted several mantras and shlokas free of cost to a global audience as a service. He has appeared in a vernacular TV show (in Hindi) on a series of talks covering different temples and customs titled "Bharat ek punah khoj" (translates as searching again for the secrets of India) and on "Simha talks". His core belief is the ancient and powerful prayer "Tamaso maa jyotir gamaya" or "Lead us from darkness to the light". The book was edited and processed by Dr. Prerna Pandey, who holds a doctorate in Biotechnology, and has published a few books on Life Sciences, is a yoga enthusiast, embraces the philosophy of 'Karma Yogi,' and is a seeker of knowledge.
