About the Book

Mr. Barmy Noodle is in trouble again - this time because he's eaten all the dinner at lunchtime when he should have been digging the garden. Dotty Noodle isn't impressed when she returns from shopping to find no dinner for her. So Barmy agrees to take her out to the cafe. On the way he realises he's forgotten his money when he changed his trousers and has to run into a field to escape her umbrella upon his head. Unfortunately there is a fierce bull in the field, but fortuitously little Molly, the farmer's daughter has also strayed into the field and Mr. Mudhopper, the farmer, assumes when he finds her with Mr. Noodle that he has saved her from the charging bull. He offers a fine dinner at the farmhouse to Barmy and his wife as a reward, so once more, Dotty is happy and all's well that ends well.

About the Author :
Once upon a time, in a gentler age than today, there lived a man called Gilbert Arthur Beauchamp. Well, if he were alive now, it would still be a gentler time for him, for he was a true gentleman. He was born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire in 1918 and he loved the rolling Chiltern Hills that surrounded him. Other than a few forays to other parts of the British Isles during his time in the Pay Corps in World War II, he lived for just over half his life in Buckinghamshire, before moving to neighbouring Berkshire for the remainder of his long and mainly happy life. This man was my father and he wrote these stories about Mr. Barmy Noodle and his long-suffering wife, Dotty, to amuse my brother and me when we were young children. I think their charm is as great today as it was then, and I would like to share it with you. Jill Hudson
