About the Book

Orlando has been blessed with great and godly leadership in the city and the county. In Morphing Orlando, former Chief of Staff to numerous mayors, Randall James, describes the projects and people who had an impact on the growing up of "The City Beautiful." Bold, nerve-wracking, and even downright hilarious, many of the decisions and events he recounts are not commonly known to even the most avid government observer or newspaper reporter, giving you the inside scoop behind the history of this fascinating city. Randall James has been privileged to serve thirty-one years in government, including more than twenty-four years with the City of Orlando. In Morphing Orlando, he shares some of the behind the scenes workings that helped transform a small, quiet Florida town into one of the most desired tourist destinations in the world. Beginning each chapter with a guiding verse from Scripture, he gives you an overview of the recent history and growth of the city from a Christian perspective, including how: ? Jesus took a country boy from North Carolina and put him in places of authority and influence ? Projects were prayed over to ensure they would improve quality of life for the people of Orlando ? God's grace was shown to this thriving metropolitan area.

Review :
I have had the privilege of knowing Randall since he became an Orlando police officer and served with my dad. I have watched him first hand effectively serving in the executive branch of government and then as an under shepherd of his church. His book is an inspirational read and I am proud to call him friend. --Chief Judge Belvin Perry Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida In 1980, I met Randall when I was first elected to the Florida legislature and have enjoyed working with him on issues to enhance the quality of living in Central Florida. He is my brother in Christ and I know of his boldness in using cancer as a platform to encourage others and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His book will demonstrate how to get it done in government as well as in the church. --The Honorable Daniel Webster United States Congressman It has been my joy to have spent over seven years serving side by side with a man I have grown to love and appreciate. I have never served with anyone who has greater favor with God and man. My journey is richer today because I got to work alongside Randall James. Pastor Randall's book will open the eyes of many to the intricacies of always putting Christ first while serving mankind. --Dr. David Uth First Baptist Orlando Senior Pastor
