About the Book

The goal of this book is to present the current state of knowledge of cell based myocardial regeneration including focuses on current findings in both the laboratory and the clinic trials. The initial focus of the book is on the magnitude of the problem of the growing number of cases of congestive heart failure diagnosed each year; followed by two sections on the science behind cell based myocardial regeneration. The focus on the book will then turn to the clinical issues surrounding stem cell delivery to the heart at the time of myocardial infarction and in patients with congestive heart failure.
