About the Author :
Thanos Kriemadis is Professor teaching Total Quality Management in services, Strategic management, Entrepreneurship and SMEs management, and Principles of Management at the University of Peloponnese. He received his B.A., M.A., Ph.D., and M.B.A. from USA Universities. He was specialized in Strategic Management under the guidance of Dr. Ansoff (The Father of Strategic Management). He was also an active member of the San Diego Deming User Group where he was introduced to Total Quality Management by Dr. Deming’s disciples. Dr. Kriemadis is Quality Auditor for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2008) as well as Assessor of the European Excellence Award promoted by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) specialized in Small and Medium Enterprises and the Public sector-Education. Before moving to academia Dr. Kriemadis held several management posts in both the public and private sectors in the USA and Greece. In USA, he worked in the Quality Department of Motorola, Inc. using the six-sigma methodology. He also served as a quality and strategy consultant developing and auditing quality systems and strategic plans in Greece, European Union and USA. Research interests include Total Quality Management and Strategic Management issues applied in service organizations. Ioanna Thomopoulou is Teacher of Primary Education in Athens, Research Associate and PhD Candidate in Education Administration at the University of Peloponnese. She received her BSc. and MSc. from National University of Athens (UOA). She was fellow of the Laboratory “Biophysical Environment: Neurosciences & Learning” of the National University of Athens (UOA) with main responsibilities her participation in research projects, the project management of postgraduate program “Sociobiology, Neurosciences & Education” and the organization and conferences secretarial support. Mrs. Thomopoulou published in 2012 a book titled “School Management, with emphasis on quality” while in 2013 – 2014 she participated in the creation of a cognitive tool titled ‘Scientific information in the management of schools’.The tool was designed to provide schools with specialized education and training in management science” and was published from the Laboratory of “Organization and management of services and quality of life” at the University of Peloponnese. Her research interests include Deming Theory, School Management, Education Leadership and Teacher Empowerment. Anastasia Sioutou , is a Research Associate and Ph.D. candidate at theUniversity of Peloponnese. Her dissertation elaborates on the application of Deming’s Management Method on public administration sector. She received her B.Sc from the National University of Athens (UOA) and her Masters in “Organisation and Administration of Public Enterprises, Public Organisations and Enterprises” from the University of Peloponnese (UOP) in Greece. She has been Head of Department of the Civilian Service Centre of the Municipality of Sparta for 3 years. Her administrative experience also includes, working in Coca Cola Hellas S.A. and DHL International Hellas S.A. where she applied Total Quality Management practices in the work environment. She has also worked as a Teacher at the Primary Schools in Greece. Her research interests includes Deming Theory, Total Quality Management and Strategic Management issues applied in service organizations, public administration and educational administration.
