About the Author :
Colleen Cool (PhD) is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, Queens College, CUNY. Her research and teaching areas include Digital Libraries, Human-computer Interaction, Interactive Information Retrieval and Human Information Behavior. Dr. Cool's research has been funded by the Institute for Museum & Library Studies (IMLS) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). She is co-editor with Kwong-Bor Ng of the forthcoming book, Recent Advances in the Design, Construction and Evaluation of Digital Libraries: Case Studies , to be published by IGI Global. Kwong Bor Ng (Ph D) is an associate professor teaching at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, Queens College, CUNY. He has also been a consultant for various research projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Dr Ng’s teaching and research areas are in the technical and technological aspects of metadata and information retrieval in the context of digital libraries environment. Dr. Ng has published more than 20 refereed papers in the most prestigious information science research journals, like Journal of The American Society for Information Science & Technology, and Information Processing & Management. His most recent book publications include: (1) Using XML, published by Neal-Schuman in 2007; (2) Collaborative Technologies and Applications for Interactive Design, co-edited with S. Rummler, published by Information Science Reference in 2009; and (3) Digitization in the Real World, co-edited with J. Kucsma, published by Metropolitan New York Library Council in 2011.
