Review :
"If you've been looking for a fresh way to think about learning, professional development, and the future of schooling that isn't just a rehash of the same ideas, this is the book you've been looking for. While most worthwhile books add more to your stock of knowledge, there are those rare titles-Nick's is one of these-that reframe everything you already know, making it feel delightfully fresh and unfamiliar. Nick has a singular gift for translating big, abstract ideas (which have the capacity to cross contexts) into practical principles. His book offers completely original frameworks and distinctions that have real explanatory power. The affective context model and tools like the distinction between 'push' and 'pull' approaches make it genuinely easier to think what's happening in situations where we want to direct and accelerate peoples' learning. And that makes it easier to craft more memorable learning activities, sharper interventions, resources that people will actually use, and programs that will move the needles that matter. We're all hungry for bold ideas that will help us level up as teachers, coaches, mentors, learning designers. This book satisfies that craving."
