O'Brien, of Portland, Me., have formed an alliance, and in future will conduct the insurance business at No.: )0 Exchange street, that city. These gentlemen at present represent the Merchants', of Newark, N. J.; Globe, of Chicago; Alcmannia, Cleveland; Atlas, Hartford, and Agricultural, of Watertown, N. Y. They are young men, have had considerable experience in insurance matters, are energetic, capable, and worthy of the confidence of insurance men and the public. Mr. O'Brien has filled the position of secretary to the board of underwriters of Portland, which position he resigned in order to embark in the above agency.--The affairs of the Hercules Mutual Life Ins. Co., of this city, do not appear to be in a particularly healthful condition, judging from the report of Mr. Kitchen, the receiver, filed in the office of the county clerk at Albany, on.Monday last.
