Excerpt: Commander K. Starling was the pilot of the Anhur-class patrol ship, the G.F.S. Tyr. Starling's name appeared in the G.F.S. Tyr in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Starling landed the G.F.S. Tyr on the planet Aether while pursuing a Space Pirate frigate that crash-landed there. The pilot was presumably killed along with the rest of the crew by a swarm of Dark Splinters, although it is possible he was killed in the crash. Starling's body was never identified, so it is unknown what the fate of the pilot was. Commander Adam Malkovich ( Adamu Marukobitchi), previously General Adam Malkovich, was the celebrated military genius that served in both the Federation Police, (formerly) and in the Galactic Federation Army as the only Commanding Officer to Samus Aran during her time in the Galactic Federation. He is described by Samus as being gruff, harsh, a perfect military mind, relentless in criticism, but not a machine obsessed with duty. The way he is described suggests that Samus had begrudging respect and admiration for him that has since grown into friendship. Adam is first introduced in Samus' soliloquies in Metroid Fusion, though he is seen and interacted with in Metroid: Other M, which greatly expands on his character...
