About the Book

Welcome to the curious and hilarious world of The Marvellous Mr. Pimplebottom! At the far end of Gobbledytotts Meadow, in the magical land of Gobbledygook, lives The Marvellous Mr. Pimplebottom - but only children can see him! With his mismatched, baggy trousers held up by string braces, a pet spider named Dangles, and a pouch full of his infamous Bogey Burger sandwiches (made from dried bogeys and other odd ingredients), Mr. Pimplebottom is well known for being just a little bit... peculiar. But there's more to The Marvellous Mr Pimplebottom than meets the eye! Beneath his strange habits (including a fondness for 'savouring' his loud trumps!), Mr. Pimplebottom is kind, clever, and the descendant of ancient Wizlocks - a powerful mix of wizards and witches. Join Mr. Pimplebottom and his new friend Poopie Potato, a little vegetable who looks different but is wise beyond measure. Together, they embark on a stinky but heartwarming adventure to save Captain Carrot from a terrible fate and learn that being different is something to celebrate. "The Marvelous Mr Pimplebottom" stories are Dyslexia friendly, magical, funny, and silly with naughty words that children will relate to such as, "Bogey Burger sandwiches" and "Bogey Bubble tea." However, each book has an element of moral content, such as: "Throw your rubbish in a bin, even just an empty tin." In, "The Marvelous Mr Pimplebottom and the Burrowing Shufflebums." I have also tried to incorporate a simple, meaningful rhyme into each story that the children can enjoy. Although, all five of the books and the one short story that I have written so far are very different to each other, there is an element of familiarity with Mr Pimplebottom, as each book starts with the same opening paragraph, and early on in each story, Mr Pimplebottom, will chew on a disgusting toenail clipping, "which is something that he often does, when he has a problem to fix." All the stories are available on my Youtube Channel, https: //www.youtube.com/@ChrysalisEd read by the character Mr Rumble. A funny little Yorkshire-man who escapes to his garden shed to tell the children about his secret friend, The Marvelous Mr Pimplebottom

About the Author :
My name is John Clay and I am a 60-year-old, retired Yorkshireman who currently lives in the beautiful town of Ilkley, situated at the foothills of the Yorkshire Dales with my wife (who is an AQA examiner of English Literature and Language).Standing at just 5ft in height but without any obvious characteristics to denote my stature (I simply look like I have been shrunk in the wash!!) I find that very young children have always looked at me with a sense of wonder and mystical intrigue, resulting in one of the reasons why I have always wanted to work with "tiny tots" in some capacity. As a young man, I represented GB in the sport of Powerlifting and travelled the Word, winning international competitions such as: Three times European Champion, World Silver and Bronze Medalist and many times British Champion. I have spent much of my adult life in management positions, working for SME's and large corporate companies. However, after a short spell in hospital battling the dreaded Covid. My wife sat me down one day and explained that I should consider retirement. "As I was no good to her, dead!" And so here I am today, with a Youtube Channel for Kids https: //www.youtube.com/@ChrysalisEd and scratching an itch to write children's stories."The Marvellous Mr Pimplebottom" stories are Dyslexia friendly, magical, funny, and silly with naughty words that children will relate to such as, "Bogey Burger sandwiches" and "Bogey Bubble tea." However, each book has an element of moral content, such as: "Throw your rubbish in a bin, even just an empty tin." In, "The Marvellous Mr Pimplebottom and the Burrowing Shufflebums." Or, never judge a person by how they look in. "The Marvellous Mr Pimplebottom and Poopie Potato.I have also tried to incorporate a simple, meaningful rhyme into each story that the children can enjoy.Although, all five of the Picture-books and the one short story that I have written so far are very different to each other, there is an element of familiarity with Mr Pimplebottom, as each book starts with the same opening paragraph, and early on in each story, Mr Pimplebottom, will chew on a disgusting toenail clipping, "which is something that he often does, when he has a problem to fix."
