About the Author :
Alison Baverstock worked in book publishing for many years and then played a pivotal role in establishing the academic field of Publishing Studies. She is now Professor of Publishing at Kingston University and the author of both many books and much significant research. She has founded and led award-winning initiatives to widen involvement in higher education and inclusion in reading, including the Kingston University Big Read and www.readingforce.org.uk. She is a priest in the Church of England and a keen singer. Susannah Bowen worked in educational and academic publishing for many years, including at Cengage Australia and Open University Press, McGraw-Hill, UK, and is now with Campion Education, one of Australia’s largest booksellers/school suppliers. She’s the Industry Associate, Publishing Program, School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne, and Joint Principal Researcher for the Australian Publishing Industry Workforce Survey on Diversity and Inclusion. She’s a cake baker and rides a blue Vespa. Steve Carey worked for Future Publishing, UK, launching nine magazines including Edge and PC Gamer. In Australia he was Publishing Director for Australian Consolidated Press looking after titles including Wheels and MOTOR. He has a doctorate on James Joyce from Oxford University and has lectured in publishing for Monash and Melbourne Universities. He recently wrote his first screenplay, Love’s Bitter Mystery. He is now a clinical hypnotherapist and podcaster.
