About the Book

The contributions in this volume discuss the varied mechanical behaviour of electromagnetic deformable solids and materials as well as their electromagneto-mechanical interaction, their modelling and their application to statical and dynamical problems and to engineering devices. The 43 papers illustrate the recent developments in the field of magnetic materials and their possible application. International trends are highlighted such as: theoretical approaches to the problems of describing magnetic properties of materials; laboratory investigations of magnetic properties of materials; and the application of magnetic properties and physical phenomena in engineering. The magnetic properties of materials are of such a complicated nature that efforts to create a comprehensive and coherent model of them have been in progress for many years. These works are based on theoretical and applied physics. The latest achievements in atomic and solid state physics have also been widely used in accomplishing this task.
