Yvonne DaggerYvonne Dagger is an award winning artist and author of children's books. Her paintings have been featured in numerous regional venues and on various magazine covers. Her profound community impact earned her Massapequa High School Hall of Fame inductin, and named "Woman of the Year" from both the Town of Oyster Bay and Nassau County, NY. She is a member of Hofstra University's Golden Key International Honor Society and on the Canine Companions Northeast Region Board of Directors.In 2015, Yvonne recognized that her dog, Dagger, had an amazing talent for painting and creating his own abstract masterpieces. Under Yvonne's handling, Dagger painted over 900 works of art and donated over $215,000 to charities. The duo appeared on the Rachael Ray Show, Inside Edition, and the PBS special "Shelter Me." In addition, Dagger was inducted into the Animal Heroes Hall of Fame and received ABC's Hidden Heroes Award-the only non-human to ever receive this prestigious award.Inspired by her uniquely talented pup, Yvonne authored a children's book series-"An Artist Is Born," "An Artist In Paris" and "An Artist Crosses Over"-which follows Dagger's zany, inspiring adventures. She also co-hosts the "Howling Talent" podcast alongside AHHOF President Anna Roy, which highlights talented people and their extraordinarily gifted animals. Following Dagger's passing, Yvonne adopted Picasso, a certified therapy dog, who has learned to paint in the "DogVinci" style.
