YOGANANDA
Paramahansa Yogananda (1893–1952) was a pioneering Indian yogi and author, best known for his spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi (1946). He introduced millions worldwide to the teachings of Kriya Yoga and the philosophy of Vedanta hrough his writings and lectures. His Autobiography of a Yogi has been translated into over 50 languages and continues to inspire spiritual seekers worldwide. He was among the first Indian spiritual teachers to live and teach in the West, arriving in the U.S. in 1920. His teachings emphasized the unity of all religions, meditation, and direct personal experience of God.
