Yilmaz AkyuzDr Yilmaz Akyuz is Acting Director of the Division on Globalization and Development Strategies at UNCTAD. He is the principal author and head of the team which prepares UNCTAD's annual Trade and Development Report. He also serves as UNCTAD's co-ordintor of support to the Group of 24 at the IMF and World Bank on international monetary and financial issues. Previous to joining the UN system, he was Professor of Economics at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom and at Webster University in Geneva. His teaching and research has focused on macroeconomics issues including finance, the international monetary system, economic growth and development. He has written widely on these topics.
