He was a police captain, homicide and crimes of violence detective, SWAT commander, wellness unit coordinatr, and instructor for the police academy. Since retiring from full-time police work, Willis has provided emotional-survival training to first responder agencies throughout North America, where he teaches trauma recovery, resilience, and wellness.
