William Brett ParentBill Parent retired from a career at UCLA and Harvard and fulfilled a lifelong itch to write a book based on a notorious 1934 "White Hibiscus" love triangle murder case his wife, Randi, had written about decades earlier. After extensive research, the result was his debut novel. Originally a journalist and editor, his work has appeared in The Boston Globe, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and in professional publications. In his free time, he sails a 16-foot classic boat, knows about twelve chords on the guitar-but knows them really, really well-is fluent in Boston ironic sarcasm, and appropriates story ideas from his wife's life.
