William T. Hornaday (1854-1937) was an American zoologist, conservationist, taxidermist, and author. He was the Chief Taxidermist at the U.S. National Museum and a pioneer in wildlife conservation. Hornaday's work focused on preserving endangered pecies and educating the public about wildlife conservation. His efforts led to the establishment of the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. and the founding of the American Bison Society. Hornaday's legacy continues to inspire conservationists worldwide.
