Veronica EleyVeronica Eley was born 1950 in Middleton, Manchester UK, the youngest of four children to Gordon and Mary (Carroll) Eley. The family moved to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in 1952, afterward settling in Antigonish. The poet moved to Toronto in 1974 where sh was employed by the Toronto District School Board as an adult literacy instructor from 1994-2011. In 2002, she received her Master of Education degree from OISE-UT, an experience that was crucial - alongside therapy - to her "creative remembering" and recovery from trauma.
