Venkateswarlu PeesapatiDr. Venkateswarlu Peesapati retired as a UGC Professor. He received his BSc (Spl), MSc from Andhra University, and PhD (1971) in Organic Chemistry from Delhi University, under the guidance of Padmabhushn Prof. T R Seshadri (FRS). He worked as a Post octoral Fellow and Senior Research Scientist for 14 years in different universities in USA & UK. He worked as an Assistant Professor at BITS-Pilani for two years and later served as a UGC professor at Osmania & J N T Universities. He was elected as CSIR Emeritus Professor for 2 years. After retirement, he worked as a visiting Professor at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Educational and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad. His main research interests are in the area of heterocyclic, medicinal, and polymer Chemistry, and supervised 12 PhD students, and 100 MS students and published 85 research papers in National and International journals. He has 40 years of teaching and research experience. Presently, he is serving as a Chairman of the Royal Society of Chemistry - Local Section Deccan, India. He conducts seminars, conferences & workshops (skill development programs) for school-level to MSc students. Also, organizes National/ International seminars & conferences for PhD students. He has delivered more than 100 lectures in India and abroad. In recognition of his experience and diverse range of educational activities, the Royal Society of Chemistry-London bestowed on him the RSC-London Inspirational Member Award 2015. Best Individual Award 2016: Science for the Masses by CSIR-IICT and VIBHA, India, 2016. RSC- London honored him Award for Service in Chemical Sciences, 2017.
