Val ZolfaghariVal Zolfaghari was born in western Iran, and educated in England and the US. He returned to his homeland in 1975. During the Islamic Revolution, Val's love for his country prevented him from leaving like many other highly educated citizens. He openlyopposed the dictatorial regime and was arrested and imprisoned for months. After his release and six years of contributing to the manufacturing industry, he was forced to leave Iran.During the next few years, Val lived in Turkey, Spain, and Canada. Eventually, he was able to join his older brother in the Los Angeles area. He earned a math credential, Master of Education, and administrative certificate and taught for sixteen years in inner-city schools. Since his retirement, he has turned his talent to writing.
