V. Brookes Phillips

As an English Literature graduate and teacher, V. Brookes Phillips has always dabbled in writing to inspire and encourage her pupils, recognising the power of language and storytelling to transform lives. Whilst researching her on family history, she stumbled upon Isaac Nichols, who was transported to Australia for theft, and rose to pre-eminence as Sydney’s first Post-Master. This inspired her first novel, The Last Word.
