Tom CunliffeTom Cunliffe is a sailor, yachting journalist and author. Introduced to sailing in his early twenties, he soon became a sailing instructor, which saw him progressing from running a dinghy sailing school in the south of France to a senior offshore insructor at the British National Sailing Centre in Cowes. Transferring his expertise over to journalism, he has been a regular contributor to Yachting Monthly, Yachting World and SAIL Magazine for many years. His books have won the Book of the Sea award twice, for Topsail and Battleaxe and Hand, Reef and Steer. He also penned Shell Channel Pilot for the English Channel.
