Tim PopelierRoaming the liminal space between creativity and engineering, I spend as much time working on digital designs as I do with my hands covered in sooth making sure that my product is perfectly polished - literally in many cases. A skillset inclding such diverse topics as art history, CAD design or hand casting metals might sound rather scattershot but all springs from an education as gold- and silversmith and a knack for tinkering. I currently work as a freelance 3D designer, printer and consultant focusing mostly on jewellery and miniatures manufacturers. Two fields with a surprisingly large overlap in their manufacturing processes. I help customers from nearly every continent turn their ideas into reality. Sometimes I only do the 3D design or just the finishing touches on the master parts, but always by sharing know-how of how to make sure their product is suited to their needs and process perfectly. My passion lies in understanding every step of a method so that I can do my part in it, perfectly tuned to the needs of all that comes before or after. I am equally happy spending all my time digitally re-iterating on a concept as manually sanding down that final 0.05mm on a master model to make it perfect. Read More Read Less
