T.M.P. MahadevanDr. Telliyavaram Mahadevan Ponnambalam (T.M.P.) Mahadevan was a distinguished Indian philosopher and one of the 20th century's leading authorities on Advaita Vedanta. He served as a Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at the Universityof Madras and later became the Director of its Radhakrishnan Institute for Advanced Study in Philosophy. In 1982, he was appointed as a National Professor of India. He was also the first professor from the University of Madras invited to deliver its annual Convocation Address. His work primarily focused on interpreting classical Advaita for a modern audience.
