Swami Ashokananda
Swami Ashokananda (1893–1969) was a distinguished monk of the Ramakrishna Order, spiritual teacher, and author best known for his writings on Vedanta, meditation, and practical spirituality. Swami Ashokananda was known as a brilliant teacher in th West, blending Advaita Vedanta philosophy with practical spirituality. He founded Vedanta centers in Berkeley (1939) and Sacramento (1949), expanding the reach of Vedanta in America.
