She holds degrees in mathematics, music, philosophy and Greek and Roman civilization from Maynooth University, together with postgraduate qualifications in computer, mathematical and health sciences. She hols a PhD in the development of geometry syllabuses from Maynooth University. She is a former researcher and developer in computational musicology and a former lecturer in music technology.
