Surya NepalDr. Surya Nepal is a Senior Research Scientist working on a consistency management in long running web service transactions project at CSIRO ICT Centre. His main research interest is in the development and implementation of algorithms and frameworks or multimedia data management and delivery. He obtained his BE from Regional Engineering college, Surat, India, ME from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand and Ph.D. from RMIT University, Australia. At CSIRO Surya undertook research into content-management problems faced by large collections of images and videos. His main interests are on high-level event detection and processing. He has worked in the areas of content-based image retrieval, query processing in multimedia databases, event detection in sports video, and spatio-temporal modelling and querying video databases.
